Here are the manifold changes after the 1857 revolt- The Board of Management of the Company and the Court of Directors have been abolished. All their authority was transferred to a cabinet minister, known as India's secretary of state. Moreover, Now power to govern India was vested in the Crown through the Secretary of State who was responsible to the British Parliament.
