Correct Answer: 33.33 percent

Solution : Given: The ratio of trousers and jackets is 1 : 3.
Let the marked price of trousers be Rs. 100 and the Jacket be Rs. 300.
Total marked price = 100 + 300 = Rs. 400
Discount on trouser = 20% = $\frac{20}{100}×100$ = Rs. 20
Overall discount = 30% of 400
= $\frac{30}{100}×400$ = 120
Discount on jacket = overall discount – discount on trousers = 120 – 20 = 100
Required discount % on jacket
= $\frac{\text{Discount on jacket}}{\text{Marked price of jacket}}×100$
= $\frac{100}{300}×100$
= $33.33\%$
Hence, the correct answer is 33.33 percent.
