The meaning of autonomous Government Medical College or semi government medical college same or not???
hey aspirant,
autonomous government colleges are colleges which are given freedom to design their own curriculum and conduct their own exams and open campus in various other places. Once these colleges become an autonomous institution they become a deemed university ie. then they can offer various other courses and even PG courses whereas semi-government colleges are half private and half government .They are known as society colleges as well (different from deemed one's) These colleges are not directly run by government but under the control of government that is not government owned but government aided. so directly there is no connection between both the type collges.
hope it helps..
No both are not same!!!!!!
I am explaining both of them!!!!!
- Autonomous colleges are deemed or self controlling ones, they do not come under any university, for instance madras medical college is affiliated to dr.MGR university in tamil nadu, but sri ramchandra medical college is a deemed university and they dont come under any. they conduct their own exams and they have their own ste of rules, its not universal. and the fee structure would be costly too. its always good to get in to govt affiliated colleges as it is considered prestigious , even in many parts of the world and when u appear for PG exams abroad. so make a wise choice.
- Semi-government colleges are half private and half government. They are known as society colleges as well (different from deemed one's). These colleges are not directly run by government but under the control of government that is not government owned but government aided.
I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.
