Correct Answer: 20 cm


Solution : Let $x$ be the length of the sides of the equilateral triangle.
The perimeter of the equilateral triangle = $3x$
So, $3x = 40 + x$
⇒ $2x = 40$
⇒ $x=20$
Hence, the correct answer is 20 cm.
