Question : The pie chart given below shows the number of trucks manufactured by six companies in a year. The total number of trucks manufactured by all these six companies is 1440. Number of trucks manufactured by a particular company is shown in terms of degree with respect to the total number of trucks manufactured by all these six companies.
What is the difference between the average number of trucks manufactured by K and P and the average number of trucks manufactured by J and M?
Option 1: 160
Option 2: 176
Option 3: 190
Option 4: 162
Correct Answer: 160
Solution :
Number of trucks manufactured by K = $\frac{108}{360}$ × 1440 = 432
Number of trucks manufactured by P = $\frac{45}{360}$ × 1440 = 180
$\therefore$ Average number of trucks manufactured by K and P = $\frac{432+180}{2}$ = 306
Number of trucks manufactured by J = $\frac{55}{360}$ × 1440 = 220
Number of trucks manufactured by M = $\frac{18}{360}$ × 1440 = 72
$\therefore$ Average number of trucks manufactured by K and P = $\frac{220+72}{2}$ = 146
$\therefore$ Difference = 306 – 146 = 160
Hence, the correct answer is 160.
