Question : The pie chart given below shows the price of 6 different articles. The total price of all these 6 articles is Rs. 5760. The price of a particular article is shown in terms of degree with respect to the total price of all these 6 articles.
P1 = The difference between the average price of K and L and the average price of J and N
P2 = The total price of J, M, N, and O
What is the value of (P1 + P2)?
Option 1: 2426
Option 2: 3576
Option 3: 5426
Option 4: 3232
Correct Answer: 3576
Solution :
Given,
The total price of all these 6 articles is Rs. 5760
P1 = The difference between the average price of K and L and the average price of J and N.
Price of K = $\frac{42°}{360°}\times 5760=672$
And, Price of L = $\frac{116°}{360°}\times5760=1856$
$\therefore$ Average price of K and L = $\frac{1856+672}{2}=1264$
Price of J= $\frac{100°}{360°}\times 5760=1600$
And, Price of N = $\frac{15°}{360°}\times5760=240$
$\therefore$ Average price of J and N = $\frac{1600 + 240}{2}=920$
P1 = 1264 – 920 = Rs. 344
P2 = The total price of J, M, N, and O = Total Price – Price of K and L together = 5760 – 2528 = Rs. 3232
So, P1 + P2 = Rs. 344 + Rs. 3232 = Rs. 3576
Hence, the correct answer is 3576.
