Correct Answer: Only I
Solution : Total sales of 7 companies = 3600 Note that the average sale is proportional to the angle in the pie chart. Sale of company X = $\frac{\text{Angle of that company in pie chart}}{\text{Total angle that is 360°}}\times$Total sales of all companies I. Sale of company P = $\frac{9°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 90 Sale of company Q = $\frac{36°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 360 Sale of company U = $\frac{35°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 350 Sale of company T = $\frac{15°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 150 Average sale of company P and Q =$\frac{90+360}{2}$ = 225 Average sale of company U and T =$\frac{350+150}{2}$ = 250 So, the ratio of the average sales of companies P and Q to the average sales of T and U = 225 : 250 = 9 : 10 So, statement I is true. II. Sale of company R = $\frac{140°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 1400 Sale of company S = $\frac{50°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 500 Sale of company V = $\frac{75°}{360°}\times 3600$ = 750 The difference between the total sales of companies R and S and the sales of V = (1400 + 500) – 750 = 1150 So, statement II is false. Hence, the correct answer is only I.
