Hello,

The degree of the polynomial is the highest of the degrees of the polynomials' monomials with non-zero coefficients.

For polynomial: xy + yz^2 + z^2x^3

We have degree of first term, xy = 1 + 1 = 2

We have degree of second term, yz^2 = 1 + 2 = 3

We have degree of third term, z^2x^3 = 2 + 3 = 5

The highest is 5, therefore the degree of the above polynomial is 5 (Answer)
