Correct Answer: Small and marginal farmers

Solution : The correct answer is (b) Small and marginal farmers

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana provides direct income support to small and marginal farmers in India. The scheme was launched in February 2019 by the Government of India with the objective of augmenting the income of farmers and providing them financial assistance for agricultural activities.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive direct income support of Rs. 6,000 per year in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. The funds are transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme aims to address the income uncertainties faced by small and marginal farmers, support them in meeting their agricultural requirements, and improve their overall financial well-being.
