The President of India is elected by an electoral college which consists of the elected members of both the houses of the Parliament, the elected members of the Legislative Assemblies of the states and also the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of Union Territories of Delhi and Pondicherry and now J & K will also be added in the list, as its status changed from state to union territory.
