the rational number that does not have a reciprocal
hello,
0 (zero) is a rational number that does not have a reciprocal,
any number can be written in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to zero, but in case of the rational number '0', when we reciprocate it, it becomes 1/0 which is not defined.
hope that helps
Hello,
The reciprocal of a number is also called its multiplicative inverse. The product of a number and its reciprocal is 1. All numbers except 0 have a reciprocal. The reciprocal of a fraction is found by flipping its numerator and denominator. The rational number that does not have any reciprocal is zero. Zero is a rational number and the reciprocal of it is 1/0 which is undefined. So the only rational number which does not have a reciprocal is zero. The remaining all rational number have a defined reciprocal value no matter which you number you take will have a defined reciprocal value.
