Hello,
The total surface area of cylinder = 2*pi*r*h+2*pi*r^2= 1628
Taking 2*pi*r common 2*pi*r*(h+r) we get
2*pi*r*(h+r)= 1628------------------- equation 1
The sum of height and the radius is given to us
h+r= 37
if we substitute in the equation 1 we get
2*pi*r*37= 1628
solving further we get
2*pi*r= 1628/37
2*pi*r= 44
pi*r= 22
r=22/pi
r=7
The circumference of the base which is a circle = 2*pi*r
= 2*pi*7
= 43.98
Question : The curved surface area and circumference at the base of a solid right circular cylinder are 2200 cm2 and 110 cm, respectively. Find the height of the cylinder.
Question : The sum of the curved surface area and the total surface area of a solid cylinder is 2068 cm2. If the radius of its base is 7 cm, then what is the volume of this cylinder? (use $\pi=\frac{22}{7}$)
Question : A sphere of radius 18 cm is melted and then a solid cylinder of base radius 4 cm is made from it. What is the height of the solid cylinder?
Question : The radius of the ends of a frustum of a solid right-circular cone 45 cm high is 28 cm and 7 cm. If this frustum is melted and reconstructed into a solid right circular cylinder whose radius of base and height are in the ratio 3: 5, find the curved surface area (in
