Jahangir's Tomb was constructed after the death of the emperor of the Mughals in 1627. Completed in 1637 during the reign of the son and successor of the emperor Shah Jahan. At the time the Mughals ruled the entire Indian Subcontinent and the city of Lahore was one of the most important cities in the country. The tomb, was built in the center of a large garden on the banks of the River Ravi. The site is located on the outskirts of Shahdara at the north-west corner of Lahore.
