In most of the diploma colleges I know of, the allow you to join second year of engineering after three years of diploma.
So you will be studying three years of diploma and three years of engineering.
In my opinion it is not a wise idea to take up this course of action. I would advise you to finish two years of higher secondary and then pursue engineering.
