B.Sc. Nautical Science is a field related to maritime studies and offers exciting, adventure filled as well as financially well rewarding career.
After completion of the course, the candidate should undergo the 1 year long sea service. After the sea service and clearing the subsequent oral examination, the candidate could obtain the second mates Foreign-going certificate of competency. This certificate will enable one to hold the post of Navigation Officer on Merchant Navy ships.
Even after landing such a post, one could climb up the career ladder. After 18 months of Sea service as a Navigation Officer, and clearing the written and oral examinations, one could obtain the first mates Foreign-going certificate of competency.
After 12 months of sea service as the Chief mate and upon clearing the written as well as oral examinations, one could obtain the Masters Foreign-going certificate of competency.
