There are 40 employees in a company. The salaries of 10 employees are increased by 10%. The salaries of the remaining employees are increased by 30%. find the percentage increase in the total salary of all the employees.

As per your question, there are 40 employees in a company.
10 of them got an increase of 10% while the rest i.e 30 of them got an increase of 30%.
For average increase of all the employees, we have to calculate them as (10 × 10 + 30× 30) / 40
So it'll be 1000/40 = 25%.
Hence there's a total of 25% increase in the salary of all candidates as a whole.

Sorry but the answer is not 25% the correct answer is cannot be determined I have the answer of this question but don't have the solution so I don't know that how the answer is cannot be determined actually I was given 4 options for this question and the 4th option is cannot be determined and that is the correct answer I will be grateful if u could tell me that how did it come.

As,we don't know the exact salary of a employees because their income changes with their profession( some of them may be sweepers or some of them may be manager)it is Impossible to find out percentage increase in their salaries..
