Bsc chemistry is a 3 years undergraduate course and course curriculum delas with various aspects of chemistry including chemical reactions, compositions and processes. The core subjects of Bsc chemistry (compulsory subjects) are : organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry. You do not need to choose between the core subjects as these are mandatory subjects but you need to choose btween the elective courses. Some of the most popular and impurtant elective subjects are:

The syllabus of Bsc Chemistry includes some parts of inorganic chemistry and of course a part of organic chemistry.So yes you cant go beyond the syllabus and choose accordingly.So yes if you pursue course under Bsc chemistry you will have to look for the whole and cover the course curriculum.
