Time required for the preparation of CLAT exam
Dear student ,
It depends upon your capability to prepare for any competitive exam .
First of all, look proper ln the subjects topics from where CLAT question are asked.
- Current Affairs
- English
- Quant
- Legal and Logical Reasoning
- Static GK
Then , check the weightage of questions asked from every topic by following up PYQs .
Then , you should start your preparation.
generally , for GK or Current affairs , you need to be prepared at least from 1 year before commencement of the exam.
For reasoning and quant , you may prepare within 2-3 months , again saying .. based on your capabilities to learn the skills how quickly you can! so, the time can vary. Better to prepare at least 6 months before the exam.
The following tips you need to be remembered :
- Make a Study Routine
- Aware about everyday news
- do revision of your topics
- Practice of making short notes
- Give mock test on a daily/weekly basis
- Keep consistency

CLAT is an aptitude entrance test to get into Law institutes such as top NLU's, NALSAR, NLIU, NUJS, etc. According to one of my friends who was in a similar situation, 4 months is a sufficient time for anyone to crack CLAT provided they study with focus, commitment. Joining a successful coaching institute.
It is crucial to study at least 7-8 hours a day to prepare for the CLAT exam. You should practice more and more mock test papers, previous year question papers etc.
