Hii,As far as I know GEC Thrissur being a fully govt. College lets their students have the privileges of living the true college life with the fully fledged political parties and student organisations and the larger campus. Students here need not worry about any sort of Parent- Teacher interaction for trivial matters such as bunking classes or failing the internals. The faculty are not under the pressure of any governing private management and hence will be more liberal with students. On the other hand everything in TKM has restraints from politics to academics to the hostel life with ridiculous Curfews and rules. Still our students strive to excel in everything trying their maximum to leave out nothing. Hosting their own techno-culturals fest, film fest, arts fest, sports meet. Each weekend holds lots of opportunities for interactive students to engage in different kinds of activities and interact with more like minded students. Associations like IEEE, IIChE, SAE, NSS, UNAI, IEDC helps students bring out and hone their skills be it enterpreunal, technical or social. TKM is a pretty cool college and you might hate it at some point but you will definitely love it at most points and it will definitely make you cry once you're forced to leave it. If you want to choose between either of the two keep these things in mind. The location of the college and the hostel facilities, also enquire about the placements of your respective streams in both colleges. Everything else will be fine if you find some good friends.
