NEET is the only entrance examination conducted in India for admission to all Medical, Dentistry and Ayush courses in the medical colleges of India as well as Abroad. Even from this year, AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS have been attached to Neet being a single medical entrance examination in India. This year onwards, Admission to JIPMER, AIIMS, AFMC Colleges will be done through Neet only. There are certain criteria to be eligible for Neet. As per the Neet eligibility criteria, the candidate must has passed 12th or equivalent from a recognized board with English and Physics, Chemistry annd Biology or Biotechnology (have to pass in both the theory and practical examination) with at least 50% (for general category) marks in aggregate of PCB (Includes both theory and practical score) and this is 40% for OBC, SC and ST candidates and 45% marks for PwD candidates. So, if you meet the above mentioned percentage criteria in PCB then you are eligible for Neet examination. http://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-eligibility-criteria

dear aspirant,

as of now admission to all the medical courses is by the neet exam and you have to give neet to become the doctor. however, mbbs is not a compulsory course, you can also go with:

  1. B A M S( AYURVEDIC)
  2. B U M S( english)
  3. B D S ( DENTIST )
  4. B H M S (HOMEOPATHY)

Hope this helps. thank you.
