Well you can't really know what score is enough to get a good rank because of the changing level of difficulty of exam everyday.
The syllabus remains pretty much the same every year but the level is different.
The performance of all the students determines the cutoff.
So the best is to simply work hard and score as much as possible.

Based on the trends seen in previous years, all India rank holders from 800-1100 scored between 560-570.
Therefore, this year, you will have to focus on getting 600+ to secure a rank among one thousand.
Also, multiple candidates score same marks due to which starting rank for a particular marks range may not be predictable.
However, you must focus on getting the highest rank possible to obtain a seat. All the very best!
