HI,

It is difficult to predict your percentile based on your accuracy level and number of questions attempted by you, because percentile is a relative number. If the questions are easy and a lot of people have attempted with higher accuracy than you, your percentile will come down. Just opposite to that is if the questions are tough and other students have not done well, with your accuracy level your percentile will go up.You need to improve your speed to attempt minimum of 140 - 150 questions with same level of accuracy to get a high percentile.

GOOD LUCK

Hello Chaitanya,

First of all, you don't get percentage in MAT, the score is calculated in percentiles. To get 99 percentile, you must attempt the questions with accuracy of 9 correct for every 10 questions. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 mins and there are 200 objective question. This means you need to solve each question in 0.75mins. For every correct answer, you are awarded 1 mark and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks are deducted. This implies that 1 mark would be deducted, if four questions are wrong. The score is a composite score and hence is calculated from 800. You need to score above 600 to get approximately 95-99 percentile. 200 questions are divided into five sections namely, Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Language Comprehension, Indian and Global Environment and Mathematical Skills. You need to start with the section that you are most acquainted with, so that solving those questions will take less time. In this way, you can spend more time on weaker sections or sections that you are not much familiar with.

Hope the information is useful to you.

All the best..!!!

Hi Chaitanya, it varies every year because, thw percentile concept depends on number of students who have scored less than you to the number of students attemding exam. It means 99% of the exam takers score should be less thsn your score. Generally, 99 percentile+ scorers attempt around 100 questions and get around 90 correct on it. A scpre of above 80+ will fetch around 99 percentile.
