Admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/GFTIs is done through JOSAA counselling. Admission to IITs is based on merit in JEE Advanced and for admission to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs is based on merit in JEE Main. The cut off each institute is different and cut off is branch specific. To have decent chances of getting seat in Computer Science Engineering you need to score minimum 94-97 percentile in JEE Main for admission in to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs and for admission to IITs you need to score minimum 45-50% of total score in JEE Advanced.

Cut off depends on factors such as total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. So it may increase or decrease this year based on above mentioned factors.
