Admission to the IIT's are provided on the basis of the cumulative marks of this two papers and as a result one need to qualify both in order to have a considerable rank to get admitted in IIT's. As you know JEE Advanced is one of the toughest examination in India, so you must be very keen about it regarding your preparation.
