If you want to take admisiion in VIT University, then there is no requirement of appearing in JEE Main exam. You have to apply for the VITEEE exam which is conducted by VIT itself to provide admissions in undergraduate courses. The exam is conducted in online mode and the duration is 2.5 hours. Here are the details you need to know about VITEEE.
Important Dates:
- Application form filling process started from 28Oct,2018. This could be done online as well as offline.
- The last date of filling the application form is 21 March,2019.
- Slot booking will take place on 3rd week of March.
- Admit card will be available by 3rd week of March.
- The VITEEE exam will commence from 10 to 21 April,2019.
- Counselling will start from 2nd week of May.
Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be born after 1st July,1997.
- Must be appeared or appearing in 10+2 or equivalent exam.
- NIOS students are eligible for VITEEE.
- Other open schools students are not eligible for VITEEE.

there is no need to write jee mains exam you directly take the test which is conducted by the vit university if you get good rank in that you directly get that college admission.

It varies with college to college.
Generally for IITs,NITs, IIITs your percent in 12 th board should be above 75 or top 20 percentile of your state.
For most of private colleges it should be above 60 .
For other colleges , they don't consider board marks but there rankings are low in NIRF Rankings. These are generally regional college .
