Hello

The order of reactivity of halides with amines are is RI>RBr>RCl.

Lets us take a example:

When Excess ethyl iodide is treated with ammonia then the product formed is tetraethylammonium iodide

NH3+C2H5I-------->C8H20N+

Tetra ammonium iodide is a quaternary salt .
