The college authority is strict regarding attendance, academics, discipline and time management. Placement cell provides training to its students for placement interviews. The college helps in overall growth of the students. They provide the students with good opportunities to develop certain skills and explore the corporate sector. Classrooms are well maintained. Hostels are well furnished. Campus crowd is skillful, energetic and confident. Salary packages are almost same for every cadet because salaries are paid on basis of the rank. After reaching officer rank, pay scales are much better than any other lucrative profession. It is the oldest Merchant Navy training institute of India.
