Correct Answer: 6

Solution : Given: Speed of first motorist = 4 km/h
Speed of second motorist = 6 km/h
Let the distance be $x$ km.
According to the question,
⇒ $\frac{x}{4}–\frac{x}{6}=\frac{1}{2}$
⇒ $\frac{3x–2x}{12}=\frac{1}{2}$
⇒ $2x=12$
⇒ $x=6$ km
Hence, the correct answer is 6.
