Hello Swathi,

Your question is not clear, please mention about which groups you are talking. Regarding the jobs of IAS and IPS they are two separate domains in having a common entrance examination UPSC CSE. Based on your rank in UPSC CSE exam, you can either opt for the post of IAS or IPS. But as IPS is related to Police Services you need to have the minimum physical fitness required as per the norms of the examination.

For becoming an IAS/IPS officer you have to appear for UPSC CSE examinations after completing your graduation degree. To talk about the preparation of UPSC you should have a sound knowledge of what is going on around you in your country, what are the latest updates in the field of science and technology. You should have the habit of reading the newspaper every day. In addition to that, you can check for the list of optional subjects provided by UPSC and pick a subject of your choice to pursue your graduate degree. This will help in a proper preparation strategy for UPSC CSE examinations.

IAS exam is also known as Indian Administrative Service, IPS is known as Indian Police Services, which is a national level entrance exam conducted by UPSC annually to recruit candidates for Civil Services.

The examination occurs in three stages:

The lower age limit for IAS Exam 2019 is 21 years as on August 1, 2019, while the upper age limit is 32 years.

There is upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates, which is as follows:

So, if you fulfil the above criteria you can prefer to prepare for the job of your choice both are highly respected in their own domains its totally on your personal preference and your rank in the UPSC exam based on which you will be given the job.

I hope this helps you. Good Luck!
