Pectoral and Pelvic fins (paired) - These fins act as balancers and brakes. These provide lift and counteract rolling.



Anterior Dorsal fins - These fins counteract rolling and yawing.



Posterior Dorsal fins - These fins also conteract rolling and yawing.



Caudal fins - These fins propel the body and provide lift. These can be heterocercal or homocercal.
