VIT placements in chemical engineering
The Department of Chemical Engineering under School of Civil and Chemical Engineering (SCALE) is a small in comparision to other departments (CSE, ECE, Mechanical).
- With approximately 60-70 students in every batch, this relatively small department has good faculty members (a mixed bag, expertise in different topics).
- Every faculty member is actively working on research projects and picks up undergrads to work with them. So if you are seeking research experience you won’t go empty handed. (This is important if you wish to pursue Masters abroad)
- Lab facilities are good, though some equipments are old but I have been to many colleges (including the most notable Universities in India) all are in the same condition. Recently the department has acquired Aspen Software.
- Two active Student Chapters, AIChE and IIChE. Both provide ample opportunities to enhance your technical and management skills. (I have been part of both of them, and I have had the best experience)
- International Univerisity collaborations, Industrial tie ups and co-ops are some of the USPs of the department. However, you need to show caliber to be able to tap the best opportunities.
- International and National Conferences and symposiums are organised by Students and the Deparment. Ample awards have been won by students at international competitions too.
