What is GATE Exam?
GATE is an online national level examination conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (MTech) and direct PhD admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) , National Institutes of Technology (NITs) , Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other institutes/universities across India. The exam is jointly conducted by IIT Bombay , IIT Delhi , IIT Guwahati , IIT Kanpur , IIT Kharagpur , IIT Madras , IIT Roorkee and Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore) , on a rotational basis on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB - GATE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD), Government of India.
Admission Eligibility Criteria for ME/MTech
The basic eligibility requirement for admission to ME/MTech programme is:
- Candidates who have completed their BE/BTech degree with a valid score in GATE are eligible for ME/MTech degree course.
- Candidates who have completed a 5-year program in Science or Applied Sciences resulting in the award of a Master of Science degree are also eligible for Master of Engineering course.
- Admission is based on rank obtained in the entrance test conducted for ME./MTech.
Please note that the ME/MTech eligibility criteria would vary from institute to institute.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced the GATE 2021 exam dates. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE 2021 exam will be conducted on February 5 to 7 and 12 to 14. GATE 2021 registration will start from August (tentatively).
GATE 2021 will be conducted for a total of 27 subjects to shortlist the candidates to offer admission into M.E./M.Tech/PhD at the IITs, NITS, IIITs and CFTIs.
The procedure mtech is similar to btech admission via jee mains.
1:First step is Exam.
2: If you qualified exam than go for counselling round.
3: If you get any college in counselling round then complete admission procedure of that college.
