If you have done diploma in mechanical in the gandhi institute only and also i assume its in WB only then it will be easy for you to take admission in the same college provided it offers Btech in mechanical.

West bengal is one of the renowned places which offer high quality of education in the engineering department,if you wish to get a lateral entry to any btech courses need to have diploma from the same field,you need to qualify in the competitive exam like JEE carried out by WBBHSE.only the candidates who have passed in this exam are eligible to apply for a seat in B.tech course.In every engineering college certain number of seats are alloted for the lateral entry students.
