The following is a list of requirements that are considered as prerequisites for admission to the M.C.S. program:

• A candidate must be a professional working in the Computer Science field or a closely related field at the time of application.
• A candidate must have a prior undergraduate or graduate degree in a major with a substantial background in computer science & engineering.*
• A candidate must have a demonstrated ability to maintain a 3.0 GPA or greater.
• TOEFL scores must meet university operational standard .
• For applicants submitting transcripts from non-U.S. universities, it is required to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation alongside the transcripts that are uploaded to applications from a credential evaluation service. We prefer World Education Services (WES) , however, we will also accept Education Credential Evaluators (ECE ) . We do not want the credential evaluation sent physically to us. Please upload the document you receive from WES or ECE along with the electronic versions of your transcripts.
• Incomplete applications will not be reviewed for admission.

*Well-qualified applicants without an undergraduate/graduate computer science major will be considered, applicants with a computer science major will be preferred.

The basic eligibility for M.Sc. Computer Science course has been mentioned below.

Universities like Delhi University and Savitribai Phule Pune University conduct entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. Computer Science. The Entrance exam is of 2-3 hours duration and contains questions from Computer Science, Mathematics and English Language. The test paper may be of subjective and/or objective type.

There are many universities in India which offer merit-based direct admission in M.Sc. Computer Science course. Some of these universities are Banastahli University and Ramnarain Ruia College. The merit is decided on the basis of marks scored in B.Sc. Computer Science (honors).

Several universities like Lovely Professional University, Annamalai University, and Guru Jambheshwar University offer lateral entry to the second year of M.Sc. Computer Science program. The eligibility for lateral entry is a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Science Applications.
