'Yes' , EWS(Economically Weaker Section) quote is now in action throughout the national level examination, government jobs etc and also in Maharasthra. The state government issued a resolution announcing the implementation of 10% reservation for the economically weaker sections (EWS) and will soon be starting the upcoming drive for 30,000 jobs. Let's discuss the brownie points of EWS quota and how it is changing the whole reservation criteria.

EWS quota will be applicable for those whose net family income is less than 8lacs and they will not eligible for any other quota based on education, religion or caste. The quota will be applicable to all government, semi-government offices, aided and unaided educational institutes (except for those reserved for minorities), deemed universities, corporations, statutory boards, urban and rural local bodies.
