Was there a third Merit list in xaviers Mumbai for FYBA in 2019
Admissions to FYBA closed at many sought-after colleges after the second round on Monday. Aspirants hoping to make the cut in the third merit list were disappointed after colleges like Jai Hind, Ramnarain Ruia and St Xavier’s closed for admissions in arts. At Mithibai and D G Ruparel, entry scores dropped marginally.
With fewer seats in the open category for arts and surge in demand over the years, cut-offs remained on the higher side at some top colleges. St Xavier’s College principal Rajendra Shinde said they were not expecting a third list for arts. Only five students were admitted in the second round too. At Mithibai, the first merit list closed at 96%, and the final one at 94.80%. At D G Ruparel, admissions closed at 94% in the final list. In the first list it was 98%. At D G Ruparel and Ruia, introduction of Maratha quota and EWS (economically weaker sections) in open category, brought down seats in the open category, pushing cutoffs higher.
