Correct Answer: xylem

Solution : The correct answer is Xylem.

Transport mechanism in plants is made up of xylem and phloem. Xylem carries water and minerals from roots to leaves and phloem transports food material i.e. sugar from leaves to the other parts of plants. Movement in xylem is unidirectional while in phloem it is bidirectional. Driving force behind the movement of water is transpiration of water from leaves and in phloem substances moves through diffusion, facilitated diffusion, osmosis and active transport.
