In jee advanced exam your overall subject and aggregate cutoff matters.
Means, there is no rule that you have to qualify in paper 1 or 2.
The criteria is that you must clear the individual subject cutoff with help of both papers.
Means for eg : let's take physics subject.
this year the jee advanced paper was of 396 marks. Means 132 marks for each subject .
Now you add your paper 1 and paper 2 physics score and if that score is greater than 10% of 132 ( i.e = 13.2) ( for general category) then you will be said qualified in physics. Similarly this is applicable to other subjects.
And if you are a general candidate, then apart from the individual subject cutoff you must secure at least 35% of 396 marks to get qualified in jee advanced
So there is no individual paper qualifying criteria.
Just you have to clear individual subject cutoff by adding paper 1 and paper 2 marks and secure aggregate 35% of total score, then you will said to be qualified in jee advanced.
