It's good to hear that you want to do MS from Germany
The eligibility for the required course is as follows:
- You have to complete your graduation course of min 4 years from India, as this the most important factor.
- You should qualify the exams like : IELTS or TOEFL or GMAT or GRE.
- If you have the minimum qualification such as 3 yrs course you can go for economics but for that you should contact with the university you want to opt for.

GATE is a national level exam conducted for candidates to pursue a post graduation in the field of engineering and technology.GATE scores are acceptable at four universities apart from India, which are located in Singapore and Germany.The 2 famous Universities in Germany accepting GATE score are Technical University of Munich and RWTH Aachen University. Eligibility to get Into TUM is that one must have valid GATE score. Also, bachelors degree in relevant field is a must. Eligibility for an admission into RWTH Aachen university is that one should have a minimum of 90 percentile in GATE. Applicant should also hold a good CGPA in the Bachelors degree.

Gate is not mandatory,The mandatory requirement is your German language proficiency You need to qualify in GRE exam to do MS in Germany if you are pursuing degree in German or (ILETES,TOEFL,GRE) if you are pursuing in English.
However there few University who accept GATE scores ,if you want that then you need to shortlist colleges accordingly .But mainly for admission purposes they will ask for your bachelor's degree cgpi only and GRE score.
