Computer science course is a general course on how computers work. It will often give you a brief history of the computer, as well as explain in detail how the architecture works, as well as how internet connectivity works.

Some topics (not all are listed due to length):

• How computers store things in memory
• How processors process information
• Differences between TCP and UDP
• How to use a binary & Hexadecimal system in mathematics
• And very generalized program flow (often you will have programmers from more than one path, example, you may have a game programmer taking that course along side a database engineer, both need to know all of this stuff

Mind you these are things I learned in computer science 101, and may vary school to school.
