I think you omitted the name of college about which you are asking that is why you have two unrelated thigs in your question- campus selection and ragging. Ragging is now an illegal activity and anyone who do this have to undergo criminal procedures. Law has been raised to restrict ragging and there are authorities in the institute itself who take care of the issues related to it.
And about campus selection, it involves your marks, your performance and attitude while to attend interview for the campus interview. According to the college you choose the companies can vary. But keep one thing in mind, they want an employee who cares about their company, bring innovations and keep the pride of company up.
