No exam is tough if you are well prepared for it. KVPY exams are generally conducted for admissions to IISER, IISC and BARC. If and only if you want to become a scientist and are interested in research work, you should take up KVPY. Obviously, IISER is one of the top institute for research. So, yes you do have a career.
