What about MBA from BHU?dose it provide placement?
Hi Vikram!
MBA from BHU falls under the Faculty of Management Studies which offers MBA and MBA in International business. The various specializations provided are Finance and Marketing and Human resource management. It shortlists students based on their CAT percentile. The cut-off is near 83–85 percentile.
The FMS BHU has been ranked 39th in the NIRF rankings 2018, and thus it adds as a highlight to the existing system of management education at the university. The Institute also offers an excellent ROI with placements averaging around 7 LPA and the fees is around 50k per year which increases a little in the second year.
Since it's a central university one cannot expect placements like the IIMs or any private institutions but whatever is provided here is the best and those who are capable will somehow land in a decent profile in a great company. It finally boils down to what you do in those two years of education and how you hone your skills. Since BHU is a Central University there's no guarantee of 100% placement but the avg placement CTC has been around 6–7lpa, so it is great going by ROI.
As far as Summer internship is concerned, the alumni base will help one find a suitable company. They offer different profiles which rangefrom Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Equity Research, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Business and IT consulting, Agri-Business, Industrial Relations, and HR. It can be seen that depending upon how good you hone your skills, you get the required profile, else you'd only be left some roles which do not require much of your skills. So make sure you upgrade yourself.
Many recruiters visit FMS-BHU and they usually include corporate giants like Coal India, ICICI Bank, Infosys, IDBI Bank, Visa Steel, FINO, Pantaloon, and some consulting companies as well to name a few. The package varies according to the roles.
All that being said, there are other colleges to consider from if you have a really good CAT or MAT score and it's better you look for the same. For now, work hard and smart to score 90+ percentile in CAT and you'd have a lot of colleges to choose from.
Hello dear
On the basis of what I have heard about BHI, I am providing you with certain points which you can consider before taking your final decision
1) If you feel the "BHU" tag guarantees the program to be good, it definitely is not.
2) The faculty is okay, can't really comment on them. But the student crowd lacks lustre and zeal.
3) BHU might be one of the top 3 Universities in India but Varanasi as a city is slow paced in terms of industries and corporations. In itself, the city doesn't help you much.
4) Given the image of the city and FMS, not many companies turn up for internships. This becomes frustrating when they don't even turn up for recruitments. I do not have the exact statistics but the placement percentages have gone down.
I would say BHU might be good but there are definitely better options around.
