Hey.
A commercial lawyer is required to possess strong analytic skills, good interpersonal skills and a keen understanding of the business environment. This area of law would require long working hours, though you will be paid really well too. You should speak to a commercial lawyer, to know about his/ her experiences, work schedule, area, time etc.
Many law firms in India and many international law firms work in this area. For a job here, you can either get placed through your college placements. For this you would require a good college with placements. Even if you do not pursue law from a college with a good placement record you can increase your prospects in selection by internships in firms in the same area of law. Many legal firms offers jobs to deserving and regular interns. Otherwise you can apply on your personal basis and you might get selected on the basis of your merit, co curricular activities, moots, internships, personal interview etc. You can also increase your prospects by pursuing masters (LLM) in the area of law that you are interested in like Intellectual property, business law etc.
Best of luck!
