what after IES ? do they select only required number of vacancies ? do we get any other benefits other than department of govt jobs?
After clearing IES exams students can have wide range of options in terms of getting job in the engineering industry of India. Candidates who crack the IES exam will have the opportunity to work as an Assistant executive engineer in different departments which are directly under the supervision of Central Govt. of India. Those who cleared the Indian engineering exams will work as an Assistant only in the initial stages. After having experience in the field they can be promoted as Secretary to Government of India. Indian railways, Defense services, Indian Telecommunication services etc. are few of the major areas where the engineers can look for the brighter opportunities after clearing Indian engineering service exam.
Candidates who have cracked the IES exam which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) can look for job prospects in different departments under the Govt. of India. Recruitment can be made on the basis of marks and grade in the IES exams and the number of years of experience in the particular field. Candidates will be awarded job in the sector where they have specialized engineering degree.
As mentioned above also that candidates will be placed only as an Assistant executive engineer in different departments at the initial stage. After having at least 3 or 4 years of experience, they can work as an executive engineer which is equivalent to Under Secretary Govt. of India. Those who do have more than 20 years of experience can be promoted to the post of chief engineer Level-1 st . And those who do have 32 years of experience or more will be recruited as the Secretary to the Govt. of India.
