Dear aspirant,

There are many disadvantages of using plastic. Few are:

  • They are non-biodegradable.
  • When plastic products are made some toxic gases are released which get mixed with the air and comes into our body when we breathe.
  • If not disposed off properly, it will remain in the environment and form heaps which will be consumed by fishes and birds and other animals which can lead them to death.
  • Plastic releases some chemicals which get mixed with the soil and water when thrown away.
  • Burning plastics releases toxic gases like nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide etc.

These are few disadvantages but if we ban plastic totally then it will cause a lot of inconvenience as it's very cheap and has versatile applications. So, we need to find an alternative to remove our dependencies from plastics.

So we should not ban plastic but follow the 3R's of Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.
