What are alpha, gamma, deuteron , positron particles? what is their mass and charge taken respectively? Give reactions also?
Hi,
You can consider an Alpha Particle as an equivalent to He2+ charged particle. This means that, an alpha particle has 2 protons and 2 neutrons. Its mass is 6.64 * 10^(-27) kg.
Gamma rays are often emitted during the radioactive decay alongwith the alpha and beta particles. These rays are penetrating in nature, and these are of very high energy. It has no charge.
Deutron is also a charged particle having an charge equivalent to +e. It has mass same as of the proton.
Positron is also a charged particle which is produced during the process of B decay. It has a charge equal to +e. You can check out the whole bunch of reactions in the atoms and nuclei unit of physics class 12th.
Hope it helps.
