Cut-offs are the minimum required marks for a candidate to be deemed as ‘Qualified’ in the examination. There are cut-off ranks as well which means the highest rank that a college has accepted a student into. Example, if cutoff rank for an engineering college is 2000 then all the students who have gotten a rank higher that 2000 will not be able to get a seat. Please note, that cutoff rank is different for every course in every college and they vary as per the reservation category as well. That said, to get admission into IIT you will not be able to do so for a B.Tech course because you will not meet the eligibility criteria for JEE Advance due to year restrcitions. However, you can pursue Robotic Engineering in M.Tech in an IIT.
