what are museum and herberium
Hi,
A museum is an institution that cares for (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preservation_(library_and_archival_science)) a collectio (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collection_(artwork)) n of artifacts and other objects of artistic (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art) , cultural (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture) , historical (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History) , or scientific (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science) importance. Many public museums make these items available for public viewing through exhibits (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_case) that may be permanent or temporary. [1] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum#cite_note-1) The largest museums are located in major cities throughout the world, while thousands of local museums exist in smaller cities, towns, and rural areas. Museums have varying aims, ranging from the conservation and documentation of their collection, serving researchers and specialists to catering to the general public. The goal of serving researchers is not only scientific, but intended to serve the general public (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_public) .
herbarium is a collection of preserved plant specimens that have been stored appropriately, databased and arranged systematically to ensure quick access to students, researchers and the general public for scientific research and education. The Welsh National Herbarium contains vascular plants, bryophytes (mosses and liverworts), lichens, fungi, and algae. In the vascular herbarium, specimens are arranged by plant family/genus, and stored alphabetically. Specimens are stored in tall cabinets within the herbarium which is kept cool at all times. Each cabinet usually contains one taxonomic group of plants, for example members of the genus ‘Rubus’ have their own cabinet/section within the herbarium.
Hope this helps
Wish you luck
