The IBPS examination is taken by candidates that wish to get a job in the Public Sector Banking industry. The exams are conducted for various posts such as Specialist Officer (SO), Probationary Officer (PO), Clerical cadre etc.
Managing to clear one of these examinations with high scores enables candidates to land a job in banks likes RBI, Canara Bank, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, IDBI etc. Having a job in any of these banks is highly prestigious by a social standard and can be very high paying as well.
The basic eligibility criteria to appear for IBPS examination is that a candidate must be an Indian Citizen, between the ages 20-30 as of the recruitment date, and candidate must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
